A Message from The Pastor
Welcome to Milo Academy Seventh-day Adventist Church, nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and bordered by the South Umpqua River. Our church is a warm and culturally diverse community that serves the students and staff of Milo Adventist Academy and our neighbors throughout the valley. Here you’ll find a place where young people learn to lead, faith grows deep, and worship centers on an almighty God.
Each Friday evening during the school year, we gather for Vespers. This is an evening of singing praise to God and sharing testimonies about how Jesus is working in the lives of our students and staff. On Sabbath mornings, Bible study classes meet for every age, and our worship service gives students hands-on opportunities to lead. You will see students sharing their musical talents, reading Scripture, telling children’s stories, running our media team, and occasionally preaching the Word. It’s faith in motion, not just in theory.
As you walk in, you’ll notice a church family made up of people from around the world. We love celebrating that diversity in worship. Each week, students and staff read Scripture in languages that represent their homes. Some Sabbaths, you’ll even hear songs of praise lifted to God in those same languages—a beautiful reminder of the global family of faith we belong to.
We believe in nurturing the whole person: body, mind, and soul. This includes encouraging healthy living, whether through our monthly vegetarian potluck or an afternoon hike on one of the beautiful trails around campus. Nothing is better for clearing your mind than sitting by the river, listening to nature’s sounds, or having an afternoon Bible study on the grass. Nature is often called God’s second book and a place that can refresh the soul.
If you’re exploring where faith might lead you, or seeking a community for your family, we’d love to welcome you. Come visit, get to know us, and find your place in a church that feels like home.
About Seventh-day Adventists
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of a worldwide Christian movement with more than 23 million members who share a simple goal: to help people everywhere understand the Bible and find freedom, healing, and hope in Jesus Christ.
Adventists believe in one God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus came to this world to show us God’s love, lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again so that everyone can have eternal life. After returning to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to guide, comfort, and empower us as we follow Him. We look forward to the day when Jesus will return and make all things new.
Because we believe that every part of life matters to God, Adventists seek to live with wholeness and compassion—caring for our bodies, minds, relationships, and the world around us. From how we eat and rest to how we serve and love others, our faith shapes the way we live each day.
